Mothers Day

The folks at Apple have now let you gift music and playlists -
Basically the next generation of the Mix Tap.
Mix Tapes fell in a few different categories.
There is one you made for the girl you really really liked in high school -
it was all lovie dovie - filled with Journey songs
Then there was the one you made for the girl you really liked, this one
was filled with songs that made sure you liked her and were designed to make her
sleep with you - and old example would be the Rasberries "Let's Go All The Way" or
any number of Prince or Marvin Gaye songs
Also there is the break-up tape - starting with "Red Rubber Ball" by the Crycle or Maybe
Greg Kihn's "The Break-up Song" and quickly moved to "I used to Love her, but I had to Kill her" or "Don't go away angry, Just go away".

S0 here's a Mix Tape/I Tunes Playlist for Mom - maybe not for her, but songs about mom
Alot of these are country/alt-country, but come one they do make great mom songs

1. Mother - Pink Floyd : Yes, they are going to try and break your balls
2. Mama Tried - Merle Haggard: "I turned 21 in prison, doing life without parole" pure poetry
3. Redneck Mothers - Ray Wylie Hubbard/Jerry Jeff Walker: "mother's who have raised their sons so well/so well so well so well"
4. Mama, We're all Crazee Now - Slade: Forget about Quiet Riot's cover with is the one
5. Mama, Don't Let Your Babies.." - Make 'em be doctor's & laywers and stuff
6. Mama Told Me Not to Come - Randy Newman/Three Dog Night: "Want some whiskey for your water Sugar for your tea"
7. Mother & Child Reunion - Paul Simon
8. Mother's Little Helper - I think I drove my mom to these

There are lot's of others - most are tear jerkers,

Welcome

It's good to be back in the Blogoshere or whatever they are calling it these days.
The old blog has been retired and we'll try and and keep this one focused on music -
but I'm sure that movies & TV will get pulled in here - I'll try and keep my ranting to a
minimum. I'm pretty sure that most people really don't want to waste their time
listening to me complain. -
With this emphasis on music - I encourage all you musical types to send me your stuff (contact me via email) or tell me about local, home-grown music that you like.
So with that, I'll open the floodgates!
Thanks for stopping by, come back often.
Heck, I may even have some stuff to give away!
